Here's a look ahead at what's happening in Long Beach this week:
Beach Town R&R for Veterans: Through this week the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors will host wounded, ill and injured soldiers and their families with an expense-paid vacation in the beach town. For the past five years volunteers for the organization have worked year round to raise the funds needed to support the project that provides the veterans with accommodations, recreational activities and much more. Boardwalk Rebuilding: Grace Industries, the firm hired to rebuild Long Beach’s 2.2-mile boardwalk, is scheduled on Tuesday to complete construction from Long Beach to Laurelton beaches, the contracted milestone for the first 100 days of the project.

Book Signing: The Long Beach Historical and Preservation Society will host a book signing at its museum, at 226 W. Penn St., on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Author Jeff Singer will sign his book "Reflections," which chronicles some of the personal stories behind the memorial benches on the former boardwalk that are due to return once the new structure is completed.
Zoning Board Meeting: The Long Beach Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a regular meeting on the sixth floor of City Hall, at 1 W. Chester St., on Thursday. View the board’s agenda for the meeting here.

Salsa at the Plaza: Kennedy Plaza is set to turn into a Latin hot spot on Saturday, when Arts in the Plaza hosts a salsa event, featuring with music, food and other entertainment.
