Long Beach Man Arrested for Allegedly Impersonating a Police Officer

Just hours after he cut a plea deal for faking his death at Jones Beach last summer, Raymond J. Roth, 48, of Long Beach was arrested Thursday for impersonating a police officer and attempting to kidnap a woman, Nassau County Police said. The following day, police said Roth was possibly involved in two other cases involving women who were approached by a suspicious man in a van.  

Schumer Calls for Barrier Island Beach Rebuilding by 2014

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer called on the federal government to begin immediate design construction on the Long Beach dune project at a press conference in Point Lookout last Sunday.
