What to Do with West End Library Branch?
Let us know in the comments what you think should be done with the facility.

The Long Beach Library Board of Trustees on March 27 voted three-to-two to adopt the proposed $3.4 million 2013-14 budget, which would cover the $21,600 lease on the West End branch until February 2014, but does not include the $64,000 cost to restore and restock the facility, according to the Long Beach Herald. If the building at 810 W. Beech Street is not restored as a library, Director George Trepp said that there are other options available to make use of the space. One is to turn it into a technology center for teens, at a cost of $28,000. Another option is to utilize the facility as a meeting place for Long Beach community groups until the lease expires, after which the branch would close, which is the option reflected in the budget.
Another option includes using it for classes for the Long Beach Public School students, and Project Hope, a FEMA-funded health services program, which operates through Long Beach Reach, a Nassau County-funded youth and family services program, has expressed interest in the property, Trepp said.
