Ronkonkoma Man Charged In Long Island Burglary Spree: Police
Robert Blackmore used rocks to break into an IHOP, a Starbucks, two Dunkin' Donuts and five other businesses, according to police.
LONG ISLAND, NY — A Ronkonkoma man is scheduled for arraignment Saturday in connection with nine burglaries, including a break-in at IHOP in Lake Ronkonkoma, over the past six months, according to the Suffolk County Police Department report.
Police said Robert Blackmore, 54, who was arrested Friday night by detectives on the Long Island Expressway in Dix Hills, would grab rocks and throw them at businesses throughout Long Island in order to break into them and steal cash.
The crimes occurred at an IHOP and Stacey’s Bagels at Lake Ronkonkoma, a Starbucks in Islandia, a Bagel Express in Smithtown, a Duck Donuts in Hauppauge, a Princess Deli Bagels in Commack, two Dunkin’ Donut stores in Patchogue, and Bohemia and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Bohemia. The burglaries happened between Jan. 25 and July 22, according to the police report.

Blackmore was charged with nine counts of third-degree burglary, police said.
It wasn't immediately clear how much was stolen in all and from each individual business.
