State's Audit Of Long Beach Proposed Budget Projections "Reasonable"
The tax levy of $60.1 million is "within the limit established by law," State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said.
LONG BEACH, NY — An audit has been issued for the City of Long Beach, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced.
In a release on Monday, DiNapoli said auditors found the "significant revenue and expenditure projections in the 2024-25 are reasonable."
The proposed budget with a tax levy of $60.1 million is "within the limit established by law," DiNapoli said.

At $104,775,000, the city's proposed budget is approximately $2.7 million more than last year's budget.
Long Beach's proposed budget includes revenue estimates for metered water sales of $5.6 million and sewer rent estimates of $5 million based on rate changes, which the city council has not yet authorized, DiNapoli said.

"Unless the rate changes are authorized and made in a timely manner, water and sewer fund budgets should be modified accordingly," he said.
