• Cops: Woman fatally hit crossing Sunrise Hwy. in Lynbrook (newsday.com) — A 46-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car Sunday evening while crossing Sunrise Highway at Horton Avenue in Lynbrook, according to Nassau County police. The 18-year-old driver stayed at the scene, and the victim later died at the hospital as police continue to investigate.
