William L. Buck School Students Celebrate the Season at Festive Winter Concert

William L. Buck School in the Valley Stream 24 School District recently performed its annual holiday concert

Just ahead of winter recess, students at William L. Buck School in the Valley Stream 24 School District performed its joyous annual holiday concert for their peers and families.

The event kicked off with a showcase of musical talents featuring students playing holiday songs on the trumpet, clarinet and flute led by Mr. Shmorhun. Following the festive ensemble, music teacher Mrs. Joanna Milanese led the chorus through this year’s program. Students introduced the audience to each selection of the concert, which featured a blend of beloved holiday classics and contemporary hits.

During an engaging performance of the song “Ugly Christmas Sweater,” one a student confidently walked through the audience to showcase his own extravagant holiday outfit. During another interactive part of the performance, students finished their rendition of “Here Comes the Snow” by playfully throwing plush snowballs into the audience. The final number was a theatrical performance of “The 12 Days of Christmas,” which saw students sporting costumes and props to represent the special gift named on each day listed in the song.
