5-Year-Old Massapequa Cancer Patient Honored For Bravery
Mason Maier, who is battling leukemia, was sworn in as an honorary member of the Massapequa-Farmingdale Men's Club.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Councilman Tom Hand, and Councilwoman Laura Maier joined the Massapequa-Farmingdale Men’s Club to swear in “Mighty” Mason Maier, a 5-year-old cancer patient from Massapequa, as an honorary member of the Men’s Club.
Diagnosed at just 3 years old with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Mason has persisted through years of long and arduous treatment with a smile. His strength and kindness through this battle have inspired the Massapequa community, which rallied around him as Saladino honored his bravery and welcomed him into the esteemed civic group that conducts charitable efforts throughout the year to support the community.
