
Berner Middle School student Mark Vitucci will compete in the state Geographic Bee.
The eighth-grader, who won the school's bee earlier in the year, passed a test to qualify for the state competition, which will be held at the New York state Museum in Albany on April 5.
The students with the top 100 scores were invited to the state bee. If he wins he'll move on to the National Geographic Bee in Washington DC in May.

In addition to the trip to the finals, the winners of the state bee will receive $100and a National Geographic DVD.
Vitucci was one og 12 Berner students who took part in the program.
