Insurance Assistance in Massapequa Friday
Representatives of the state Department of Financial Services will answer questions at the Riviera.
If you've been affected by Hurricane Sandy and you have questions or need assistance regarding insurance claims of relief programs, there will be help in Massapequa on Friday.
Representatives from the New York State Department of Financial Services will be on hand at the Riviera at 200 East Shore Drive in Massapequa.
They will answer questions from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will also be information on how to make a complaint against your insurer.

While the DFS representatives can provide some information on some relief programs, it should be noted that the agency regulates homeowners, renters and business insurance claims.
They do not handle issues relates to flood insurance.
Those with claims are encouraged to bring all of their documentation, including insurance policies, payment, written communications with insurers, phone notes and any other relevant documents.
No appointments are necessary for the event.
