Islanders Hold Moment Of Silence For Connor Kasin

The 17-year-old Massapequa hockey player died on Nov. 30.

ELMONT, NY — The New York Islanders paid tribute to Connor Kasin, the teenager who died during a youth hockey event last weekend in Bethpage.

Before Thursday night's game, the Islanders held a moment of silence for the 17-year-old.

"Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates," the Islanders posted to X.

Kasin collapsed and was unable to be revived during an intermission at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center.

He was a senior at Massapequa High School, where he played for the Chiefs hockey squad and for the Sharks Elite team.

When Kasin died, the Islanders posted their condolences, stating he was a "beloved member of the Massapequa and Long Island hockey community."

The funeral Mass was Friday morning at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford. Kasin was laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
