Ames Students Give Elementary Schoolers A Tour Of Fully Decked Halls

District representatives said the tour is becoming a "highly-anticipated annual tradition" for students.

MASSAPEQUA, NY. — Students in the Ames Campus Career and Community Connections program gave their neighbors from Lockhart Elementary a glimpse into the future Tuesday, as the high schoolers walked elementary students through the halls at the school they’ll one day attend.

The doors have decorated for the holiday season, many made with the help of freshmen at Ames and complete with a holiday spin on the subject matter taught in the classrooms that they open into. In other cases, students included tribute to movies or created elaborate winter scenes on the doors, creating a cheery set of hallways for the younger students to tour.

At the end of the tour, first graders walking the halls were presented with craft kits, made by CCC students, and a visit from a special holiday figure: Santa Claus.
