Long Island's First Snowfall To Hit Region Tonight: Latest Forecast
The National Weather Service has also issued winter weather and coastal flood advisories for parts of the Island as the winter storm hits.

LONG ISLAND, NY — The first snow of the season is going to hit Long Island tonight, ending the record-setting period without significant snowfall.
Monday will start off clear, but clouds will move in as the day goes on. Snowfall will likely start Monday night and continue into Tuesday, where it will turn into a wintry mix of rain, snow and sleet. The National Weather Service predicts snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches overnight.
The Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for southern Nassau and all of Suffolk County from 6 p.m. Monday to 1 p.m. Tuesday. There will be slippery road conditions that could impact commutes, as well as wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour.

Additionally, the service also issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for southern Nassau County from 1 to 4 a.m. Tuesday. The storm could cause minor flooding at vulnerable areas near waterfronts and shorelines.
