Massapequa Schools Welcome The Class Of 2034
Massapequa's newest kindergartners started their long school careers last week.
MASSAPEQUA, NY — Homecoming and prom are still several years away, but until then, Massapequa’s new kindergartners will be making lots of other great memories as they venture through elementary school, and eventually into middle school and high school.
As is tradition in the Massapequa School District, kindergarten started on the second day of school. The class of 2034 got off to a strong start. The 451 kindergartners at six elementary schools arrived for the first time as Massapequa students on Sept. 10, a warm and sunny day that hopefully foreshadows bright and prosperous futures ahead.
The youngsters had a brief introduction to school during kindergarten screening sessions in spring. After buying school supplies and picking out first-day outfits, they were ready for the next step. There were many hugs, and lots of pictures, as parents watched their children line up outside with their new classmates. Before long, kindergartners were inside exploring their new classrooms, meeting their teachers and making new friendships.
