Road Closure at Park Boulevard and Sunrise Highway

A defective traffic light has been causing traffic problems at the busy intersection of Sunrise Highway and Park Boulevard in Massapequa Park, officials said.

Police are not allowing motorists to turn north onto Park Boulevard from Sunrise Highway, causing them to have to detour to get to the Massapequa Park LIRR station and the shops in the area.

Drivers can double back onto Park Boulevard after turning north at other intersections.

Massapequa Park Mayor James Altadonna says he believe he believes the problem which popped up Thursday night was storm related.

Park Boulevard is regulated by the state.
