Storm Could Cause Flooding On Nassau Coast Thursday Night
Heavy wind and rain will also hit the area overnight, which could make travel dangerous.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — While Long Island is going to be spared the worst of the storm that's coming to the area tonight, it could still cause flooding in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm, which will be dropping snow and ice further north, will hit Long Island late Thursday, but will only bring rain. However, the National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood statement for southern Nassau County. Flood-prone areas along the South Shore could see flooding of up to six inches, the weather service said.
The Weather Service also issued a wind advisory for southern Nassau. Winds will be between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.
