TOBAY Beach To Remain Open In September, Extending Beach Season

The Town of Oyster Bay's beach will be open for an extra month this year, giving residents more time to enjoy the sand and surf.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Town of Oyster Bay announced today that it will be extending the 2021 beach season and keep TOBAY Beach open until the late days of September.

Instead of closing the beach after Labor Day, lifeguards will be on duty select days through Sept. 26. There will be lifeguards at TOBAY Beach on Sept. 7 and 8, as well as the weekends of Sept. 11, 12, 19, 19, 25 and 26.

The beach will still only be open to residents, but there will be no charge to get in.

"Residents are invited to savor the last of the summer season by visiting our beautiful TOBAY Beach through September," Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino stated. "Not only will TOBAY remain open, but admission into the beach will also be free, making a visit to this staycation destination even more convenient and enticing."
