Weigh in on Primary Turnout

Primaries traditionally have lower turnouts than general elections. Are you voting Thursday in Massapequa?

Thursday is primary day in Massapequa.

That is unusual, because primaries are usually held on Tuesdays in New York state. But Gov. Cuomo signed legislation to move it to avoid a conflict with the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Locally, there will be a Republican primary in the ninth assembly district  between incumbent Joseph Saladino and Rich Young, a lawyer from West Islip.
