1. The Nassau County Bar Association will host a series of mortgage foreclosure clinics to homeowners at risk of losing their homes, starting Monday. The free clinics will be held in Mineola and give residents ideas for modification or reinstatement of loans. (Subscription: Newsday)
2. Sunday will be the 11th Annual Toys For Tots drive at Nassau Coliseum. Residents can drop off toys from 9 a.m. to noon for children 12 and under. (CBS New York)
3. Jordan Vallone writes that two Merrick Avenue Middle School students Ryan Kenny and Jason Lin have been accepted into the Institute for Creative Problem Solving at SUNY Old Westbury. It is a selective program for advanced middle school math students. (LI Herald)
