Birch School Musicians Perform In Winter Concerts

MERRICK, NY. — Fifth and sixth graders at the Birch School brought their musical talents to the stage Monday night as the school hosted its annual winter concert, with performances during the day for classmates and staff and in the evening for families and community members. The concert featured performances by the school’s band, chorus and orchestra.

District representatives said the concert was, “the culmination of months of preparation,” with performances helmed by music teachers Robert Normandeau, Paul Graham and Tom Velsor. The trio’s leadership, the district said, “helped students develop confidence, master challenging pieces and refine their skills as musicians.”
