Calhoun Celebrates Homecoming
Students honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month during their homecoming ceremonies.
Students from Calhoun High School recently celebrated its homecoming.
The school's second annual Coltfest was held prior to the homecoming game which was played against Elmont High School.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Calhoun's field featured pink yard lines and painted ribbons. Football players and cheerleaders were also adorned in pink to support the cause.
The day before homecoming, the school held its pep rally in which the school's sports teams were introduced.
Through the week, students showed their school spirit through themed days such as Pajama Day, Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Twin Day and Calhoun Colt Day.
“We preach community. We preach doing things together and supporting each other,” Principal David Seinfeld said. “When you have something like Spirit Week, it is about coming together as one community spirited for the same cause. Again, whether it is supporting breast cancer awareness or team spirit, it is about doing it together.”
