Crime Report: Merrick Woman Accused of Fraud, Items Stolen
The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department; it does not indicate a conviction.
- Items were removed from a vehicle parked at Barclays Townhouse on Oct. 25.
- On Oct. 27, an unknown suspect stole baby lotion from Walbaums on Merrick Road.Â
- Carlos Pineda-Diaz, 26 was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Merrick and charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
- Jena Sowinski, 37, of Merrick allegedly claimed and received more than $18,000 in FEMA disaster assistance after claiming that the apartment she rented at the time of Sandy had been damaged and rendered uninhabitable.
