1. A woman died after a crash on the Southern State Parkway in Merrick Wednesday morning. Iesha Maxwell, 33, of Hempstead, was driving west on the Southern State Parkway when her car left the roadway and struck the center median west of exit 23 and she was thrown from the car. (Patch)
2. A personal trainer from Brooklyn was arraigned on Long Island on Wednesday on attempted murder charges, accused of shooting his parents on Christmas morning in Hewlett Harbor. Dino Tomassetti reportedly was angry about the custody of his infant son. (CBS New York)
3. Nassau County Police announced they will be stepping up road patrols on New Year’s Eve. All officers will be out looking for impaired drivers. (CBS New York)
4. Check out this house for sale in Uniondale. The wheelchair-accessible Colonial is on a cul-de-sac and is listed for $650,000. (Subscription: Newsday)
