East Rockaway Man Charged in Bank Robbery
Man found and arrested hours after robbery took place Monday, cops said.

Nassau Police charged an East Rockaway man Monday night with robbing a bank less than a mile from his home.
At 9:45 a.m., Robert Land, 40, of East Rockaway, approached a teller at the Capital One Bank at 115 Main Street and demanded cash, cops said. The teller cooperated and handed cash over to Land, who fled south on Baisley Avenue on foot, police said.
Six employees and three customers were inside the bank during the robbery, officials said. No injuries were reported.

Land was charged at his Second Street home at 8:27 p.m. Monday, cops said. Police said he had heroin on him at the time of his arrest.
Land was charged with third-degree robbery and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Land will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
