Roosevelt Man Faces Robbery Charge After Forcibly Taking Dog From Teen: Police

The man's arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday, police say.

ROOSEVELT, NY. — A Roosevelt man is facing a robbery charge Wednesday after he forcibly took a dog from a 15-year-old girl while she was walking the dog on Grenada Avenue in Roosevelt, police said.

Nassau County police said 29-year-old Roosevelt resident Keame Rowser approached the girl at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, forcibly took the dog from her and walked away. After an investigation, police located Rowser and the dog, police said.

No injuries were reported and the dog was returned to the girl, police said. As for Rowser, the 29-year-old faces a third-degree robbery charge and a charge of endangering the welfare of a child, police said. His arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday at the First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
