Fight Escalates As Woman Arrested, Another Woman Hospitalized: Police

It happened outside a Uniondale home on Wednesday evening, police said.

UNIONDALE, NY — An argument on Wednesday evening outside a Uniondale home led to a woman being hospitalized, police said.

Armanda Valles, 30, of Uniondale, began to strike the 19-year-old victim in the leg with brass knuckles, police said.

The woman tried to run away, but Valles took out a knife and slashed her below the knee, authorities said.

Valles, who fled on foot, was located after an investigation near the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Front Street. She was placed under arrest without further incident, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Valles is charged with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
