- Jeff Bessen has the story of John Novello, former deputy commissioner for the Town of Hempstead Buildings Department, being sentenced this week to five years probation for stealing more than $59,000 from the Cedarhurst Republican Committee. He also has to pay restitution. (LI Herald)
- Nassau County legislature approved $106 million in cuts of real estate and parking fees. The Republican-sponsored bill wanted to reduce the budget burden on residents' fees. (Subscription: Newsday)
