  1. Jerry Barmash tells us that police are still looking for the driver of a black SUV who fled after hitting a bicyclist on Aug. 13 in Merrick. The male bicyclist, 38, was hit by the SUV that was turning into Wendy's on Merrick Road. The bicyclist is still in the hospital. (Patch)

  5. Alex Costello reports that a Copiague man was sentenced to 10 years in prison today for his role as a major supplier of a huge drug trafficking ring out of Hempstead. Allen Evans, 47, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a decade behind bars and five years of post-release supervision. (Patch)
