July 11: 7-Eleven Free Slurpee Day, Long Island Film Expo in Bellmore

1. 7-Eleven is celebrating its 85th anniversary today and as a treat to its customers, the franchise will give away free 7.11-ounce Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bellmore Patch and Merrick Patch will tell you which locations you can pick up your frosty treat!

2. The Long Island International Film Festival will start at the Bellmore Movie Theater on Thursday. Watch the previews of the some of the films that will be screened at the festival on Bellmore Patch at 12 p.m.

4. The Bellmore Memorial Library will hold a blood drive today from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

5. The Merrick Public Library invites all to its We Care Blankets event at 7 p.m. The library needs volunteers to take part in an evening of wrapping blankets for children who are undergoing chemotherapy. So go out and lend a hand.
