- Patch has the final numbers on the elections: Merrick area legislative seats went easily to both incumbent Republicans. In the 19th Legislative District, Steven Rhoads got 72 percent of the votes on Tuesday. In the 13th Legislative District Thomas McKevitt, got 11,104 votes, 68.2 percent. (Patch)
- And beyond Merrick, Republicans won across Long Island on Election Day. Bruce Blakeman, the Hempstead Town Councilman, and former presiding officer of the Nassau County Legislature, declared victory over incumbent Laura Curran. (News 12)
- Police are searching for two people they say stole an ATM machine from a Marriott hotel in Uniondale. It happened at 3 a.m. Tuesday morning. (Daily Voice)
- The Daily Voice reports that police released the name of the person hit and killed on Route 100 in Farmingdale on Tuesday. He was Ralph Alexandre, 36, of Westbury. (Daily Voice)
- Don Clavin will serve another term as Town of Hempstead supervisor. The Republican was ahead of the Democrat Jason Abelove with 65.6 percent of Tuesday's votes. (Patch)
