Merrick Avenue Students Unite Against Bullying

Pupils devoted a week to emphasize the importance of anti-bullying.

Merrick Avenue Middle School students recently devoted a week to emphasizing the importance of anti-bullying in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month.

The students sold  orange bracelets with the slogan, "Don't Be Mean Behind the Screen," to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and signed a banner to unite against bullying.

“It is very important that as a school and as a community we do everything we can to educate kids and make them aware of the issues that surround them every day in regards to technology and its misuse," Principal Dr. Meador Pratt said.  "The anti-bullying message is really important to at school in a formal setting so students can help be part of the solution.”
