Merrick Man Accused of Shoplifting from New Jersey Apple Store
Michael McDonnell was arrested for allegedly shoplifting two Macbook Air Laptops from the Freehold Raceway Mall Apple Store.

A Merrick man was arrested in New Jersey on Dec. 30 for shoplifting two Macbook Air Laptops with a total retail value of $2,298, the Freehold Patch reported.
According to the complaint warrant, on Dec. 30, Michael McDonnell, 45, of Merrick, was subdued by an off-duty police officer while fleeing from the Apple Store in the Freehold Raceway Mall.
McDonnell allegedly physically resisted and fled from loss prevention officers after concealing two Macbook Air Laptops.

In addition to being charged with shoplifting and fleeing from loss prevention officers, the complaint warrant states that McDonnell was also charged with becoming a fugitive from justice by violating his parole and leaving Nassau County.
The arresting officer on Dec. 30, was Freehold Township LPO Felix Melendez. McDonnell has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $200,000 bail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2012.
