Merrick School District Budget Passes

Voters have decided on the proposed 2015-16 budget.

Merrick residents voted to approve the school district’s $46.91 million proposed budget 623-211 votes, according to Newsday.

The budget includes a 2.42 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 2.4 percent tax levy increase.

Incumbent Pamela Banks, incumbent Nancy Kaplan, and Linda Wilk were elected to the Board of Education after running unopposed.
