More TOH Residents Can Get Booster Shots By Appointment

MERRICK, NY — The Town of Hempstead is sending its "Vaxmobile" to Merrick on Friday, in another effort to push people to get fully vaccinated.

Boosters shots will be offered by appointment only at the Merrick Library. It is organized by Mount Sinai South Nassau.

It is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

COVID-19, fueled by the omicron variant, may have started to plateau in recent days, according to Gov. Hochul's office. However, the positivity rate on Long Island is still approximately 25 percent.
