- News 12 Long Island stopped by Nassau Community College Saturday where 500 Long Islanders were lining up to get vaccinated or get a booster COVID-19 shot. There are now eight active cases of the omicron variant in the state and the seven-day positivity rate on Long Island is 5.9%. (News 12)
- New York state is sending 10 medical staff from the National Guard to the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care facility in Uniondale next week, part of a bigger effort to send National Guard medical staff to nursing homes and long-term care facilities in New York that are short-staffed due to the pandemic. - A person was struck by a train Saturday morning near East Rockaway, closing the tracks for about 90 minutes. No information about the person's name or condition was disclosed. (Subscription: Newsday)
