North Merrick Passes Budget, Bond, Capital Reserve
Voters have decided on the proposed 2015-16 budget.
North Merrick residents approved the district’s $29.93 million proposed budget 595-222 votes.
The budget includes a 1.42 percent spending increase over the current year and a 1.11 percent tax levy increase.
A bond and capital reserve proposition both passed with 69.5 percent and 70.3 percent of the votes, respectively.

Incumbents Neil Brown and Steve Enella were elected to the Board of Education after running unopposed.
