Woman Dies After Crash On Southern State Parkway
Police say the woman was thrown from her car after crashing into the center median.
MERRICK, NY — A woman died after a crash on the Southern State Parkway in Merrick Wednesday morning threw her from her car.
According to state police, Iesha Maxwell, 33, of Hempstead, was driving west on the Southern State Parkway when her car left the roadway and struck the center median west of exit 23. Police say Maxwell was thrown from the car by the crash.
She was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where she later died of her injuries.
