1 Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash In Tuxedo

Police said, for unknown reasons, the man's car crossed over into oncoming traffic Monday morning.

TUXEDO, NY — An Orange County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in the town of Tuxedo.

The New York State Police said the fatal crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Old Route 17 in Tuxedo near the Sloatsburg border.

Authorities said the preliminary investigation found that a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by Ahkem Chu III, 23, of Chester, was traveling south on Old Route 17 when it crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a tree truck that was fully loaded.

Chu was killed, police said. The two occupants of the truck were not seriously injured.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Town of Tuxedo Police Department and the Town of Ramapo Police Department.
