2 Accused In Hyde Park Home Invasion

The county sheriff said the burglary was not a random act of violence.

HYDE PARK, NY — Two Dutchess County men were arrested after being accused of targeting and breaking into a Hyde Park home Tuesday.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said, shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 911 call was received that reported a home invasion on Lyons Drive in Hyde Park.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of Selburn A. Ridley Jr., 28, and Anthony G. Guillen, 28, both of Poughkeepsie.

They were both charged with second-degree burglary, a felony.

The pair was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park Justice Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail or $500,000 bond.

Sheriff Kirk A. Imperati said the public should be assured that this home invasion was not a random act of violence.

"As a result of strong teamwork by the responding police agencies," he said, "two male suspects were immediately taken into custody at the scene of the incident."

The sheriff's office was assisted by the Town of Hyde Park, City of Poughkeepsie and Town of Poughkeepsie police departments, the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and the New York State Police.
