3 Accused Of Having Illegal Weapons, Drugs In Sullivan County
One person was from New York City, and the other two were from Alabama.

ROCKLAND, NY — Three people were accused of having illegal drugs and illegal weapons after a traffic stop in Sullivan County.
The New York State Police said, shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday, troopers of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit said they saw a 2023 Hyundai Kona traveling west on Route 17 near exit 94 in the town of Rockland in violation of traffic laws.
They stopped the SUV and identified the driver as Tyquan A. Robinson, 32, of New York City. Police said he initially lied about his identity, stating his name was Bobby Gordon, 33.

The front seat passenger was Christian R. Tapscott, 34, and the back seat passenger was Tandra C. Smoots, 29, both from Decatur, Alabama.
Police said, while Robinson was being interviewed by troopers, K-9 Wink conducted an exterior and interior search of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to narcotics.

A probable cause search of the SUV was then conducted and yielded 10 firearms, a large amount of ammunition, several large capacity magazines, a hydrocodone pill and a bookbag with cocaine residue.
According to the police, the seized firearms were:

- Canik Arms 9mm TP9 Elite Combat
- Firestorm .45 Mini Compact
- Taurus Arms 9mm G2C Serial
- Springfield Armory XD 9mm S
- Kimber 1911 .45, serial number defaced
- Sota Arms .556 AR Pistol
- Ruger .380 LCP2
Robinson, Tapscott and Smoots were charged with drug possession and multiple weapons charges, including having 10 or more illegal firearms and transporting five or more illegal weapons.
They were arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court. Robison was sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail, because he is a two-time felony offender, police said.
Tapscott and Smoots were sent to the Sullivan County Jail on $75,000 bail, $150,000 partial bond or $300.000 secured bond.
All three have a return court date of July 27.
