79-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Weekend Crash In The Hudson Valley

The victim was airlifted by a medivac helicopter to Westchester Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

TOWN OF WARWICK, NY — The spring weather offered a perfect opportunity to take out the motorcycle, but one spring ride ended in tragedy.

The Town of Warwick Police Department says that on Saturday, around 10:40 a.m., officers responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of County Route 1 with Big Island Road. The Warwick Fire Department and Warwick EMS also responded to the scene.

The motorcycle rider was a 79-year-old man from New Windsor. He had serious injuries and was airlifted by a medivac helicopter to Westchester Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing and are asking that anyone with information about the incident to contact the Town of Warwick Police Department Detective Unit at 845-986-5000.

"We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the man who died from a motorcycle accident," police posted on social media.
