Dutchess BOCES Postpones Graduation Because Of 'Weapon' Incident
The graduating class will, however, take part in a graduation rehearsal and luncheon Friday.

SALT POINT, NY — The graduation ceremony at Dutchess BOCES' Alternative High School, originally scheduled for Friday, will be postponed because of the incident that prompted a lockout Thursday.
School officials said the new date for the graduation has not been scheduled.
Graduation rehearsal and luncheon will take place at 12:30 p.m. Friday, with all Alternative High School staff reporting to the building.

Non-graduating students will have Friday off, which students at the Career and Technical Institute will have a regular day remotely.
The campus in Salt Point was placed on lockout around 11 a.m. Thursday when there was a report of weapons at the location.

Police found and detained a student in the school. He had what appeared to be an airsoft gun contained in a backpack.
