Dutchess Man Sexually Assaults Child: NYSP

DOVER, NY — A Dutchess County man was accused of sexually assaulting a child.

The New York State Police said Gelver Miguel Javiel, 44, of Dover, was charged Monday with predatory sexual assault, a felony.

After receiving a law enforcement tip, the state police in conjunction with the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center determined Javiel sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13.

He was arraigned in the Town of Dover Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Javiel is next scheduled to appear before the court April 21.
