Hail, Damaging Winds Possible In Parts Of Mid-Hudson Valley

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The mid-Hudson Valley could see some stormy weather Friday.

The National Weather Service said it issued a hazardous weather outlook for Columbia, Dutchess and eastern Ulster counties.

The outlook said there is a chance for thunderstorms through early afternoon Friday.

A few of the storms may become severe with large hail and damaging winds.

  • Friday Afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind around 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. West wind 7 to 9 mph.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.
  • Sunday — Juneteenth: Sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.
  • Monday — Juneteenth observed: Sunny, with a high near 78.
  • Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
