Highland Falls Schools Closed Tuesday Over 'Concerning Matter'
The acting superintendent informed the community about the closures Monday night.

HIGHLAND FALLS, NY — The entire Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District is closed Tuesday because of an undisclosed police issue.
Acting Superintendent Michael McElduff said, in a letter Monday night to the community, that a "concerning matter" was brought to the district's attention around 8:15 p.m.
"The local police departments as well as the State Police are looking into this very serious matter," he wrote.

Because law enforcement needed to do a complete and thorough investigation to "safeguard the welfare of the school community," the decision was made to close the entire district for the day.
"We will continue to work collaboratively with both the local authorities and the State Police until we can conclude that all three buildings, staff and students are safe," McElduff wrote.
