The town of Highlands was particularly hard hit by the massive rainstorm. The nearby United States Military Academy in West Point reported more than 8 inches of rainfall Sunday.
The force of the flash flooding dislodged boulders, which rammed the woman’s house and damaged part of its wall, Neuhaus told the Associated Press. Two other people were able to escape.
