Newburgh Man Accused Of Having Sex With Minor

NEWBURGH, NY — A city of Newburgh man was accused of having sex with a minor.

The Orange County Child Abuse Unit announced the arrest of Jairo Garcia, 31, of Newburgh.

He was charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The New York State Police working in conjunction with the Orange County Child Protective services conducted a joint investigation into whether Garcia had engaged in sex acts with a child less than 13 years old.

He was arrested Wednesday and arraigned in the Town of Goshen Court.

Garcia was sent to the Orange County Jail without bail, and an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
