Orange County Fair Set To Open In Middletown

The 11-day event will include family entertainment, local and national music, racing and auto events, as well as amusement rides.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — If it’s summer in the Hudson Valley, there must be a county fair going on somewhere.

Beginning Thursday, the Orange County Fair opens its doors to the public, presenting rides, food, entertainment and more.

For more than 100 years, the fair has been presenting family entertainment, local and national music, racing and auto events, as well as amusement rides.

The Orange County Fair is open weekdays from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and weekends from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 30.

Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors 65 and up and children 7 to 12. Children age 6 and younger are free.

Unlimited carnival rides are $30 per person per day. Individuals ride tickets are $1.50. For 20 tickets, the cost is $30; 50 tickets, $60.

Featured musical entertainment, includes tribute bands for Val Halen, Metallica, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses and Foo Fighters. For details, go to this website.

Other entertainment includes monster trucks, the Anastasini Circus, a strongman show and comedy hypnosis.

There will be fireworks on Friday nights: July 21 and July 28.

The Orange County Fair is at 239 Wisner Ave. in Middletown.
