Passenger Killed In Wednesday Night Collision Is ID'd As 19-Year-Old
State police say that a Nissan, traveling east on Route 6 at high speed, drove into the center of a traffic circle and hit a tree.
WOODBURY, NY — Police have identified the victims of a tragic crash in a traffic circle Wednesday night.
New York State Police say that on Wednesday, around 10:53 p.m., troopers from State Police Monroe responded to a single-vehicle collision on Route 6, in the town of Woodbury.
An initial investigation found that a 2017 Nissan, traveling east on Route 6 at a high rate of speed, failed to navigate the curve at the Long Mountain traffic circle. The vehicle then proceeded through the center of the traffic circle and struck a tree in the middle.

The vehicle was occupied by three residents of Stony Point: the driver, 43-year-old Steffany C. Egger, and two passengers, 19-year-old Xavier Egger, and a 21-year-old male. All three were extricated from the vehicle.
Steffany Egger and the 21-year-old male front-seat passenger were treated at the scene by EMS personnel, and taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Xavier Egger, the back-seat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
