Police Shooting In Hudson Valley: 1 Woman Dead

BREAKING. The shooting occurred Friday in the town of Hyde Park.

HYDE PARK, NY — The New York State Police said there was an officer-involved shooting Friday and one woman is dead.

State police and the Hyde Park Police Department are investigating the shooting at a home on North Cross Road in the town of Hyde Park, according to a news release.

Authorities said that "one female subject is deceased" and that the New York Attorney General's Office has been notified.

State law says the attorney general's office is charged with investigating any incident when a police officer, whether on duty or off, is involved when there is a death of a person.

There is no threat to the public, law enforcement said.
